GITA has achieved incredible growth and has a stellar reputation as a top-tier educational institution. The department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in the year of 2004 under umbrella of GITA Engineering College and Bidya Bharati Charitable Trust with a vision to produce creative technocrats in the field of Computer science and Engineering. Then subsequently, due to industry demands AICTE took interest for establishment of new departments like Department of Computer Science and Engineering with specialization Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Internet of Things, Machine Learning for which Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) was established in the year 2020 with an objective to cater the demands of industry to handle different set of challenges on Big Data. While the department took birth with under graduate program, the intake capacity was 60, now it rises up to 120. The department has high end laboratories with latest software to full fill demands of students and new research challenges.
Welcome to the department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) at GITA Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar. As head of the department, I am privileged to have this opportunity to introduce our family members. At our department, we are offering undergraduate program based on the cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, and Data Science. This program has been designed to prepare the students to handle day to day data analytics problems along with development of software in intelligent way. Our curriculum is constantly updated based on the demands of industry and different data analytics problems being faced by research centers. We are committed to provide up-to-date technology to our students with the fundamentals and the knowledge they need to excel in their future careers. Our faculty members are renowned and experts in their own fields, and they provide highest quality education to our students. They are always committed to help students with proper guidance and support to make them technocrats of repute to sustain every field of life. Besides we offer a wide range of extracurricular activities and different national and international level events that provide students with opportunities to connect industry professionals and academiciansto explore themselves with latest trends and developments in computer science. College has different student clubs independently run by the students where students can show their ability and technical under the leadership of expert faculty members. The department provides excellent infrastructures with latest software and high end laboratoriesto support the dynamic technology trends and to accelerate the research as the college is the best research hob of BijuPatnaik University of Technology. We take this opportunity to invite you to have physical realization. Jai Hind !! Dr. N. K. Kamila
